The inspiration behind ProMind Wellbeing comes from both my personal and professional experiences. Having been adopted, I developed an early appreciation for the complex relationship between nature, nurture, identity, and wellbeing. This sparked a lifelong interest in understanding people, their experiences, and the factors that influence how we grow, cope, and thrive throughout life.

My personal experiences have also strengthened my belief in the importance of compassion, dignity, and meaningful support. Witnessing the challenges faced by loved ones as they navigated significant life changes, declining health, and the emotional impact of ageing highlighted how vulnerable people can feel when life no longer looks as they expected. It reinforced my belief that everyone deserves to feel valued, respected, and empowered to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

Professionally, I have spent many years supporting children, young people, families, and adults through a wide range of challenges. As a family support practitioner, I worked alongside families to help them overcome difficulties, strengthen relationships, and build the confidence to create lasting positive change for themselves. Later, through teaching Health and Social Care, I found immense satisfaction in nurturing, guiding, and empowering others to reach their potential.Β These experiences ultimately led me to establish ProMind Wellbeing and further develop my professional knowledge through advanced study and specialist training.Β
Β
I created ProMind Wellbeing because I recognised that many people need support that sits between formal services and everyday life. While therapy and professional interventions are invaluable, people often benefit from practical guidance, encouragement, connection, and someone who genuinely believes in their ability to move forward.

Through a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, my aim is to empower courage, build confidence, nurture resilience, and help people recognise their own strengths. Whether supporting a young person experiencing anxiety, helping a family navigate challenges, or providing companionship and wellbeing support for an older adult, my focus is always on the individual behind the challenge.

I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, valued, understood, and empowered. My role is not to tell people what to do, but to walk alongside them, helping them discover their own strengths, build meaningful connections, and move forward with greater confidence and hope.

πŸ’™At ProMind Wellbeing, the goal is simple: to help people thrive, not simply cope.

My Approach

At ProMind Wellbeing, we recognise that every person has their own unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and aspirations. For this reason, we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to support.
My practice is rooted in a strengths-based philosophy, focusing not only on the difficulties an individual may be facing but also on the strengths, abilities, and resources they already possess. I believe lasting change is most effective when people feel empowered, valued, and actively involved in their own journey.
Drawing on principles of positive psychology, I work collaboratively with individuals and families to identify strengths, build confidence, foster resilience, and develop practical strategies that support wellbeing in everyday life.
My approach is informed by person-centred and trauma-informed practice, creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment where people can explore their experiences, make sense of challenges, and move forward at a pace that feels right for them.
Rather than focusing solely on problems, I aim to help people recognise their potential, build on what is already working well, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
